The Beauty Queen of Leenane is a darkly comic drama set in a small, rural Irish village. The story follows Maureen Folan, a woman who has spent her life caring for her manipulative and bitter mother, Mag. Trapped in a stagnant, resentful existence, Maureen dreams of escape and a life beyond her bleak home.
The play explores themes of loneliness, family conflict, and the desperate desire for change .... Both poignant and unsettling,
The Beauty Queen of Leenane examines the emotional toll of entrapment and the lengths people will go to in pursuit - or prevention - of freedom.
This production contains adult themes. Recommended 15+
